About This Position
Overview:
Creates and conducts technical training programs on the application, safety, and techniques of welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW. The portfolio of programs offered to students will be a mix of in-person and online delivery formats. This position includes leading the design of the curriculum, instructing classroom and hands-on lab sessions, and maintaining best-in-class safety and quality standards in training. Provides instruction on welding theory, blueprint reading, materials, equipment usage, and proper welding procedures. Administers written and practical exams, and prepares performance evaluations to track trainee progress. Oversees all activities related to welding training programs within the Training Center's offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance comprehensive welding training programs aligned with industry standards and certifications (e.g., AWS).
Deliver technical instruction on various welding methods, safety procedures, equipment setup, and metal fabrication techniques.
Maintain and regularly update training curriculum to reflect evolving industry practices and technologies.
Ensure availability and functionality of welding lab equipment, safety gear, and training materials.
Lead with a focus on safety compliance, weld quality, and workforce readiness.
Evaluate student progress using exams, hands-on assessments, and performance reviews.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of technical training experience in welding.
AWS certification (CWI or CWE) preferred but not required.
At least 5 years of practical field experience in welding, fabrication, or metalworking.
Strong instructional, communication, and presentation skills.
Highly organized with strong documentation and reporting skills.
