Position Description:


Overview:

Join Circle Seafoods as a Buyer/Procurement Specialist and play a crucial role in our team by efficiently and cost-effectively sourcing products.

Responsibilities include maintaining effective communication and teamwork with key personnel, showcasing financial acumen, managing inventory, fostering vendor relationships, and overseeing procurement across all departments and locations at Circle Seafoods. Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure products from a variety of suppliers, ensuring quality and sustainability standards are met.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to achieve the best possible terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the sales team to meet customer demand.
  • Maintain detailed records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline procurement processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Stay informed about market trends and emerging suppliers to keep Circle Seafoods at the forefront of the industry.
  • Contributes to the improvement of existing processes, including the deployment of strategic supplier management and procurement strategies.


Software Competency

  • Thorough understanding of integrating comprehensive and beneficial software solutions.
  • Collaboration/High-level communication


Construction Supply Management

  • Timely completion of all necessary purchases/orders for construction projects.
  • Barge/Seasonal: Work closely with barge managers, QC, cook, and other team members to ensure timely stocking and ordering for summer seasons.
  • Finance Team


Relationship Building & Maintenance

  • Establish and uphold strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure smooth communication for Circle.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between all vendors and the team.
  • Responsible for completing and submitting credit applications to key vendors.
  • Proactively engage with vendors, seeking cost-effective and high-quality products and methods.Financial Literacy.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance department.


Purchase Order/Inventory Management

  • Develop best practices for purchasing and inventory management, including managing purchase orders, tracking numbers, and inventory counts.


Receiving

  • Establish best practices for managing item receipts and documenting their reception.
  • Coordinate container vans, schedule third-party truckers, and manage arrivals/deliveries with the team.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Experience in setting up procurement software systems (ex: Limble)
  • High-level analytical skills
  • 2+ years of experience in a Procurement position or related role ideally with a background in construction
  • Excellent communication/Collaborative
  • Detail-oriented with ability to see high-level overview at all time.
