What You’ll Do
The Human Resources Assistant will assist the HR Director with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department with a variety of administrative functions. Additionally, the Human Resource Assistant will perform services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department. This position will need excellent verbal and written communication skills and is on-site only.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with basic time and attendance inquiries.
- Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and Flexible Spending Account plan providers.
- Assist with new hire orientation.
- May assist with planning and execution of special events such organization-wide meetings, employee events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Post job openings via ADP Workforce Now.
- Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Handle employee eligibility verifications. Be knowledgeable in the E-Verify and I-9 process for potential audits.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations and document.
- Pull basic reports from the HRIS as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as Zoom.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (ADP Workforce Now), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in related field required
- Prior related office experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
