Description:
This adjunct position will be responsible for the delivery of the Surgical Technology program curriculum to students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology degree program.
Position Purpose:
The adjunct instructor will work with the Program Director and Clinical Coordinator during the laboratory courses at the Clinton campus to deliver a quality educational experience to students in the Surgical Technology program.

Essential Job Functions:
Primary responsibilities include -
- Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the program and the syllabi.
- Demonstrate knowledge of course content.
- Deliver hands-on activities to enhance student learning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their lab skills and assignments.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and advancements in surgical technology to incorporate relevant information into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to contribute to the instruction of students, evaluation of students, and continuous improvement of the surgical technology program.
- Maintain regular availability for student assistance during lab time and outside of lab time.
- Counsel students on performance, attendance, or other concerns, as needed.
- Maintain current BLS for health care providers by American Heart Association.
- Assist with and participate in graduation activities.
- Ensure confidentiality of student records.
- Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college.
- Attend professional development events.

Required Qualifications & Education/Experience:
- Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
- Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
- Have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
- Ability to use information technology for professional productivity, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrate evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate student-centeredness.
- Able to interact with a broad range of people with diverse backgrounds both on and off campus in a positive manner.

- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (8 hours).
