SUMMARY: Patient acuity ranges from those transitioning to lower levels of care to critically ill open-heart surgical patients. Youll manage complex equipment and respond to technical challenges with precision. Our CVICU is at the forefront of cardiovascular medicine, treating a broad spectrum of conditions and performing advanced procedures, including:Open-heart surgeries (e.g., aortic and mitral valve surgeries, abdominal aortic aneurysm surgeries).Management of intra-aortic balloon pumps and continuous renal replacement therapy.Thoracotomies, thoracoscopy, and more.Our team has been recognized for excellence with: Platinum Performance Achievement with CP-MI registry through NCDR.Gold Plus status with GWTG HF registry.High performers in heart attack and heart failure care (U.S. News).Blue Distinction Center+ for Cardiac Care.SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Nurse Director/charge nurse patients and families are provided competent holistic care based on nursing process.

EXPERIENCE: One year medical/surgical experience; one year ICU.Experienced nurses must have ACLS upon hire, graduate nurses and nurses new to Critical Care must attain ACLS within 12 months of hire/transition.

LICENSE/CERT: Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association) within 1 year of hire Preferred: CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)

EDUCATION: Required: Associates - Nursing, Preferred: Bachelors - Nursing
