The Pharmacy Adherence Coordinator will support pharmacy adherence programs by coordinating daily activities, managing workflows, and ensuring effective communication between patients, pharmacy teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist the Pharmacy Adherence Manager with organizing team activities, workflows, and adherence-related initiatives.
- Support patient adherence efforts, medication reconciliation processes, and medication delivery or pickup scheduling.
- Perform routine and non-routine pharmacy technician responsibilities related to adherence operations under pharmacist supervision.
- Coordinate communication with patients and internal teams while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Manage multiple software applications and phone systems efficiently to support daily pharmacy activities.
- Utilize pharmacy and medical terminology accurately when communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the development, training, and effectiveness of Pharmacy Adherence Technicians.
- Maintain open communication with leadership regarding workflow updates, challenges, and operational needs.
- Assist with process improvements and contribute to maintaining high-quality pharmacy services.
The ideal candidate is a licensed pharmacy technician with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience supporting pharmacy operations in a patient-focused environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed pharmacy technician in specialty pharmacy, mail order, retail, or hospital pharmacy settings.
- At least 1 year of experience working within a pharmacy adherence-focused team required.
- Previous experience in a coordinator, lead, or supervisory support role preferred.
- Active Registered Pharmacy Technician license in the state of residence required and must remain in good standing.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to build positive working relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, emotional intelligence, and effective time management.
