The Team Member Relations Specialist is a trusted, impartial advisor to management and team members at assigned Parkhurst Dining accounts. This field-based role provides on-site support for grievance resolution, collective bargaining agreement interpretation, and Human Resources functions such as team member engagement and benefits inquiries. The Specialist partners closely with management to resolve issues and escalate complex matters as needed.
The role works closely with site leadership, human resources partners, and union representatives to ensure consistent, compliant, and values aligned application of labor agreements while supporting positive team member relations.

Team Member Relations & Grievance Support
- Serve as the primary HR and labor relations partner for assigned unionized sites.
- Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements, ensuring consistent and compliant practices across locations.
- Lead and manage grievances, including investigations, documentation, responses, and resolutions.
- Participate in grievance meetings, step meetings, and arbitration preparation as required.
- Support and sit in on collective bargaining negotiations, including preparation, note-taking, costing support, and follow-up actions.
- Maintain productive, professional relationships with union representatives while upholding company values and operational needs.
HR Support & Partnership
- Assist team members with HR-related questions, including benefits, payroll, and workplace accommodations.
- Support management in curating a team member experience that drives team engagement, recognition, and feedback mechanisms.
- Intake and address team member concerns, escalating complex issues.
- Conduct impartial investigations into team member complaints (e.g., harassment, discrimination, misconduct), preparing clear reports for management and HR leadership.
- Facilitate communication between team members, management, and union representatives to foster a positive work environment.
- Partner with Human Resources cross-functional teams to ensure team members understand and access available resources.
- Support change management efforts that impact unionized team members, ensuring compliance with CBAs and labor laws.
- Lead or participate in audits to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Legal Compliance & Policy Implementation
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements at assigned accounts.
- Provide updates and training to management on changes in employment law or company policy.
- Monitor trends in grievances, arbitrations, and labor issues and provide insights to HR and operations leadership.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation related to grievances, investigations, and labor matters.

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality or unionized environments.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience handling grievances, investigations, and labor disputes.
- Strong working knowledge of employment and labor laws applicable to unionized environments.
- Ability to travel regularly to assigned field locations.
- Experience participating in or supporting collective bargaining negotiations.
- Prior field-based HR or labor relations role supporting multiple locations.
- Ability to balance compliance, operational needs, and positive team member relations.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple issues, and travel regularly to assigned accounts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS and case management systems preferred.
