Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Picker/Packer Trainer will assist with training any new hires or temporary associates to accurately pick, pack, wrap, stack, and move product to fill customer orders as standard procedure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate effectively with trainees, leads, and Supervisors.
- Evaluate, communicate with trainees' progress, and recommend next steps
- Perform and train to locate and pick products for orders
- Perform and train to Fill customer orders according to order details
- Perform and train to remove all empty boxes from shelves
- Perform and train to Pack and palletize products as required
- Perform and train to load, unload, and sort product when needed
- Perform and train to Shrink wrap products and orders prior to loading on trucks
- Perform and train to Complete and verify an order is picked completely before placing them on conveyors or other loading areas
- Perform and train to process orders through InfoShip
- Perform and train to operate RF scanners, which are used in picking and processing orders
- Perform and train to properly stage and assist loaders to accurately and efficiently combine and load orders
- Perform and train to Move damaged product to the designated area
- Perform and train to maintain safety standards in compliance with company policy and report issues to the supervisor
- Perform and train to ensure that paperwork is completed timely, thoroughly, and accurately
- Perform and train others on our basic and general warehouse cleanup, including but not limited to sweeping with a push broom and mopping warehouse floors, organizing warehouse racks, and disposing of cardboard boxes/trash when necessary.
- Must be willing to work required shift hours as assigned/required by management
- Excellent attendance and punctuality are expected
- Other duties as assigned.
TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with training new associates, including temporary associates, in picking and order processing.
POSITION SPECIFICS:
- This is a full-time position
- Overtime will be assigned/required as business needs dictate
- Typical work hours and days are Monday – Friday, 5:00am-1:30pm, 8am-4:30pm or 2pm-10:30pm
- No travel is expected for this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have any leadership requirements and/or responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
- Minimum 3- 6 months’ relevant experience.
- RF scanner operation experience preferred.
- Must be able to read a limited number of two- and three- syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with ability to: stand for long periods of time; ability to become certified (if operating equipment); constantly move about the warehouse; pulling/pushing a cart containing cartons; bend/stoop/kneel/crouch to handle product; regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds; the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations; and the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feed of the observer). The work environment is often noisy with honking from passing forklifts and experiences hot/cold temperature fluctuations due to outside weather.
