Job Description
Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor over our Welding area to join our EECO brand, based out of Richmond, IN. This position plays an integral part on the team by overseeing and managing the daily operations of the production floor to ensure safe work practices, maintain high product quality standards and an efficient and timely work environment with an engaged team. This position is responsible for coordinating with other departments to streamline workflow, managing production team members, implementing process improvements and meeting production targets within budget constraints.
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily Operation Monitoring:
o Manage day-to-day production operations.
o Review production schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets and deadlines.
o Continuously monitor equipment performance and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs as needed.
o Manage daily and job specific documentation and materials; ensuring to communicate if material stock is running low.
o Oversee quality control of each job and provide final sign off.
Welding Expertise
o Perform advanced and complex welding tasks on various materials and configurations.
o Execute precision welds requiring a high degree of skill and adherence to tight tolerances.
o Interpret complex blueprints, welding symbols, and process documentation.
o Troubleshoot welding issues and recommend improvements to techniques or processes.
o Serve as a technical expert for specialized welding projects or repairs.
Team Leadership:
o Supported by the Operations Manager, lead, mentor, and provide direction to production team members.
o Monitor and track progress of new hire training and transfers.
o Monitor and track cross training amongst team members.
Continuous Improvement:
o Monitor and analyze operation metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to report out in daily/weekly production schedule meetings.
o Identify and implement best practices to optimize production efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
o Have an understanding, implementation and use of LEAN tools.
Interdepartmental Responsibilities:
o As delegated by the Operations Manager, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations processes.
Safety and Compliance:
o Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
o Review regular safety topics with team members and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
o Assist with investigating any reported accidents or safety incidents.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations required.
