Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Washington, D.C.; hybrid after 90 days
Status: Full-time; Exempt
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Direct Reports: N/A
Typical Work Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday; hybrid after 90 days

Monex USA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge, project management capabilities, and Workday expertise. This role is critical in supporting the successful implementation and administration of Workday Financials, as well as supporting month-end closing, accounts payable, annual audits, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and eager to work cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Compliance, and IT.

Responsibilities
- Systems & Workday Implementation
- Serve as finance lead during the Workday implementation
- Partner with HR and IT to configure and maintain Workday Financial modules
- Document Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide user support and training for Workday finance functions
- General Accounting / Month-End Close / Accounts Payable
- Record business transactions in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and post journal entries and monthly expense accruals
- Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intangible assets
- Process AP invoices
- Review and approve employee expense reports
- Reconcile operating and savings accounts, credit cards, and revenue reports
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement
- Project Management
- Drive implementation and ongoing optimization of Workday Financials and its integration with other systems (e.g., payroll, HR, compliance)
- Lead or support cross-functional finance initiatives, including system upgrades, internal control enhancements, and automation projects
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication for key finance projects
- Audit & Tax Compliance
- Lead coordination efforts with external auditors
- Manage tax advisors to ensure compliance with taxing jurisdictions
- Prepare internal control documentation and support compliance filings
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Hands-on Workday Financials (implementation or administration)
- Experience with technical accounting research and application
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven experience managing projects, meeting deadlines, and working cross-functionally
- CPA or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with a Big 4 or other reputable public accounting firm
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
- The annual salary range is $90,000 to $110,000 based on experience with a 10% annual bonus.
