INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The DC Housing Finance Agency's Internship Program is designed to attract undergraduate and graduate level students who are interested in the Agency's mission and a career in affordable housing. Interns will perform a variety of assignments designed to enhance their professional and technical development. They will gain valuable on the job training and exposure to a small fast-paced work environment.

MULTIFAMILY INTERN:

The Multifamily Intern will provide project support for the implementation of the Emphasys software by organizing, researching, and entering project information into the system. This temporary internship (2-3 months) is ideal for an undergraduate student who is detail-oriented, organized and interested in gaining experience working with data management and project information systems.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the implementation of the Emphasys software through data entry and system updates.
  • Input project milestones, key dates, and related project information into the Emphasys platform.
  • Research and gather information needed to complete project records.
  • Review project documentation to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Organize electronic files and supporting documentation for upload.
  • Identify missing or inconsistent information and communicate findings to the Director or ML.
  • Assist with quality assurance by verifying data entered in the system.
  • Perform other project-related administrative duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective research skills with the ability to locate and compile information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, or data entry.
  • Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
  • Previous administrative or project support experience is a plus.
