Guidewire Platform Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Guidewire Platform Developer based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced software engineer to build and enhance enterprise insurance solutions using the Guidewire InsuranceSuite platform. In this role, you will design, configure, customize, and integrate Guidewire applications that support critical business operations for insurance organizations. You will work across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and Guidewire Cloud environments while collaborating with technical and business stakeholders. This position offers the chance to solve complex platform challenges, contribute to large-scale modernization initiatives, and deliver reliable solutions used in production environments. Accountabilities
  • Develop, configure, customize, and maintain solutions across the Guidewire InsuranceSuite platform, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and Guidewire Cloud.
  • Build and enhance Guidewire applications using Gosu programming, product model configuration, workflow customization, and platform-specific development practices.
  • Design and implement integrations between Guidewire platforms and external systems, including messaging, batch processes, and plugins.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product teams, engineers, and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews to ensure high-quality and maintainable implementations.
  • Support Guidewire Cloud upgrades, platform enhancements, and modernization initiatives while minimizing operational impact.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, optimize system performance, and provide solutions that improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Share technical knowledge, mentor less experienced developers, and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Guidewire development experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in Gosu programming and Guidewire data model concepts.
  • Proven experience customizing Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and/or ClaimCenter.
  • Strong understanding of Guidewire product models, rules design, configuration, and application architecture.
  • Experience developing Guidewire integrations, including messaging, batch processes, and plugin implementations.
  • Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform and cloud-based platform operations.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience working with Guidewire database schemas.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Guidewire ACE certifications, experience with Guidewire Cloud upgrades, knowledge of Digital portals or DataHub/InfoCenter, and insurance industry experience are considered valuable assets.
