The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and improving complex software systems while contributing to technical strategy and engineering excellence. This position requires strong ownership, collaboration, and the ability to balance technical decisions with business needs.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions with a focus on scalability, resilience, observability, performance, and maintainability.
- Build complex features and contribute to architecture decisions, ensuring systems are reliable and aligned with long-term technical goals.
- Lead technical initiatives, own critical components, and support the delivery of projects from design through implementation.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and modern cloud-native development practices.
- Integrate AI-powered tools into engineering workflows and establish best practices to improve development efficiency and quality.
- Write, debug, and maintain automated tests while promoting strong testing strategies across the team.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to bridge technical gaps, resolve dependencies, and drive cross-team initiatives.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Influence engineering standards, technical culture, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and developer experience.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into clear recommendations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering code, systems, processes, and engineering practices.
The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack engineer with strong technical depth, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for building scalable applications. You should be comfortable leading technical discussions, mentoring others, and driving improvements in a fast-moving environment.
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Strong expertise in designing and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with modern cloud-native development technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Knative.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, including SOLID principles and design patterns.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful web services.
- Expertise with databases, data modeling, and application performance considerations.
- Proficiency with version control systems and modern software development workflows.
- Experience leading collaborative software design sessions and engineering improvement initiatives.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving technical environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of taking ownership in a dynamic environment.
- Competitive salary range of $145,000 - $160,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
