POSITION SUMMARY

The Network Engineer II is a senior level position is a member of the infrastructure team and will participate in all areas of managing the LucidHealth Network, working with the Implementation teams, and service and support teams to provide optimal service to our Radiology practices. The role has primary responsibilities for the functional management of our network, the delegation of tasks, project management, and the resolution of network issues. In addition, this position assists leadership in ensuring the networking team performs as a cohesive unit, maintaining the network's stability, security, and performance.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage assigned projects to completion with minimal supervision.

Discover, propose, and execute improvements to better network systems across the enterprise.

Identify and resolve escalated network-related issues in the LucidHealth network infrastructure.

Monitoring network performance, security, and integrity. Implementing tools to reflect performance, downtime and alerting.

Oversee the maintenance, recommendation and documentation of all network switches, routers, and firewalls, including applying upgrades along with configuration changes and troubleshooting software/hardware issues.

Design and modify the network to meet the needs of new projects and solutions.

Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, Firewall).

Design, document, and delegate and/or configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.

Resolve escalated issues by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.

Design and automate tasks and monitor effectiveness.

Mentor team members on technical issues. Mentor other functionalities within IT on the company’s architecture.

Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery).

Communicate with users when needed.

Maintain complete technical documentation. Ensure documentation and functional systems are kept up to date (IPAM, DNS etc).

Architect improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.

Assist leadership in communications on outages, major changes as well as any adverse events.

Work with vendors and third party hospital systems to arrange circuit, equipment and design delivery according to project plans.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Perl

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)

Experience with network security frameworks and control models

Hands-on experience designing and implementing network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, LogLogic)

Expertise in Cisco and Arista routing/switching, Fortinet firewalls and switching, and F5 load balancing

Experience designing and deploying SASE solutions (Zscaler, CATO) is a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft DNS and hosted DNS services, with experience troubleshooting network-adjacent services at a high level

Solid understanding of network administration, architecture, and LAN/WAN design and troubleshooting\

Strong problem-solving, debugging, and packet analysis skills

Experience with network change management practices, ticketing workflows, and documentation repositories

Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and make timely decisions

Strong understanding of network security policies and protocols

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field required

Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer

At least 10 years of experience supporting, implementing, and configuring network devices within an enterprise environment

Prior experience as a Senior Network Administrator or Senior Network Engineer strongly preferred

Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, or other relevant certifications strongly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Network Engineer II role operates in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare IT environment supporting enterprise-wide network infrastructure across multiple radiology practices. This is currently a remote position requiring strong problem-solving, communication, and technical skills to manage complex network systems, support projects, and resolve escalated issues with minimal supervision. The role also involves collaboration with internal teams, leadership, vendors, and third-party partners to maintain network security, stability, and performance. Occasional travel may be required based on project and operational needs.
