We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing manufacturing company. This role directly supports the CFO with day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in both corporate and manufacturing accounting and thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, vendor invoices, and payment approvals.
- Coordinate with operations, warehouse, and production teams to reconcile inventory, cost of goods, freight, and material variances.
- Maintain and update standard costs and inventory valuation for accurate cost reporting.
- Assist with month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Assist with payroll accounting, benefit accruals, and sales tax filings.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Assist audits by preparing work papers, schedules, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Experience with inventory and cost accounting, including reconciliation of production or logistics variances.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
- Proficiency in accounting or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
- Reliable transportation to commute to our Sunbury, PA facility.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience in plastics or packaging manufacturing.
- Exposure to ERP systems in manufacturing (e.g., WMS, MRP modules).
- Familiarity with internal controls and audit processes.
- BONUS: Interest in sustainable packaging and bioplastics.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Requires ability to work in an office and manufacturing environments for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Physical conditions for positions: sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, grasp, ascend stairs.
- Must have visual acuity, good hearing, and manual dexterity.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and moving equipment.
