Prevention Trainer -- Institute for Prevention and Recovery

At the Institute for Prevention and Recovery (IFPR), the Prevention Trainer becomes part of a purpose-driven team building healthier, more resilient communities through education. As the Prevention Trainer, you will coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate education and training for IFPR's Training Institute, facilitating training on overdose prevention, substance-use disorder, mental health, suicide prevention, substance use prevention, and other relevant behavioral health and public health topics based on organizational and community needs. A typical day for a Prevention Trainer may include:

  • Coordinating, developing, and/or implementing trainings for the Training Institute, including scheduling sessions, maintaining the annual training calendar, coordinating with trainers, handling logistical details, and providing technical assistance when needed
  • Monitoring and evaluating training effectiveness using metrics and feedback to assess the success of training programs for IFPR's Training Institute
  • Establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with community organizations, stakeholders, and collaborators to support program implementation and organizational objectives
  • Performing other duties as assigned

  • You have experience with community-level substance-use prevention and mental health promotion
  • You bring strong project management skills to managing training initiatives and timelines
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills come naturally to you; bilingual is a plus
  • You're proficient in Microsoft Office

  • This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday day shift schedule of 40 hours per week, allowing you to build strong relationships while maintaining a work-life balance.
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in public health or a related field
  • You must obtain required trainer certifications within three months of hire; required certifications may vary based on various grant requirements
  • You have three to five years of related experience and/or training in coordinating a community-based program
