Job Description
Logistics Dispatcher
Position Overview
The Logistics Dispatcher owns the daily schedule and movement of gear between our Las Vegas, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Atlanta warehouses and the local corporate-event and one-off show sites served out of each branch. You are routing CDL vehicles, box trucks, sprinter vans, and pickup trucks, tendering loads to 3G's own CDL drivers and a small panel of vetted local drayage carriers and scheduling internal transfers when a tour or large corporate job pulls equipment from one branch into another. The Dispatcher works inside Flex Rental Solutions alongside the location Operation Managers, and dock managers, and is on point from morning load-up to end-of-day check-in. This is a daily, local / regional operating seat — not a national-freight or international-touring seat. The right candidate wants to be inside a branch, on the dock, and on the phone with drivers — not always behind a screen dispatching coast-to-coast.
General Tasks / Duties
Below is a general list of the tasks and duties:
Dispatch
- Build the daily dispatch board for local deliveries: assign 3G-owned CDL drivers and vetted local drayage carriers to morning deliveries, mid-day pickups, and end-of-day returns for corporate events, one-offs, and small-format shows.
- Schedule full-day and overnight internal transfers when a job pulls gear from one 3G branch to another — Las Vegas → LA, Nashville → Atlanta, sister-house moves — coordinating the truck, the driver HOS clock, and the receiving warehouse's dock space.
Delivery Tracking
- Maintain the live equipment-tracker inside Flex Rental Solutions; reconcile what left the dock against what was scheduled to leave, and reconcile what came back against what was scheduled to come back.
- Run driver check calls at start-of-day, mid-route, and end-of-day; monitor ELD / HOS compliance and escalate late or short-shipped loads before they delay a load-in.
Driver Management
- Vet, onboard, and re-vet a small panel of local drayage carriers on a quarterly basis — insurance certificates, safety scores, on-time history — so 3G never has to spot-tender a six-figure load blind.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager(s) on the dock schedule; flag container / truck congestion before it freezes the warehouse.
- Oversee driver training for logs, walk-arounds, maintenance records.
- Drug & Alcohol Training.
- Process the local-mileage, fuel, and per-diem paperwork so driver pay and equipment P&L reconcile against the quote.
- Manage FMCSA/Clearinghouse query.
- Manage WEX cards; issue/terminate, resolve card issues.
- Manage Fleet Insurance, including active driver list.
Fleet Management
- Manage all necessary registration processes for fleet.
- Oversee maintenance schedule as designed by National Logistics Manager.
- Manage quarterly/annual IFTA reporting/renewals as well as monthly reporting of fuel receipts to truck rental vendors.
- Manage OTR permits for required states.
Other Clerical and Admin
- Manage UCR.
- Manage Prepass account.
- Receive & Respond to any Highway Patrol reports.
- Assist with selection of and roll-out of an integrated dispatch software.
- Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Qualification / Experience
- Required: 2–4+ years of local / regional dispatch or warehouse-transfer experience — preferably inside an equipment-rental, freight, moving, or live-events production company's branch network.
- Working knowledge of FMCSA Hours-of-Service rules, ELD mandates, and DOT driver-qualification file basics; comfortable running a small panel of local drayage carriers under those rules.
- Hands-on experience with TMS platforms and routing/load-tendering tools; Flex Rental Solutions experience is a strong plus.
- Comfortable on the phone with drivers — calm, direct, and repetitive when needed.
- Strong organizational skills; able to run a 10-truck / 15-driver dock at peak.
- Touring or live-event production background strongly preferred; rock-show mentality — flexible, available, unflappable.
Schedule / Hours of Work
- Typically Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, excluding peak season months.
- Comfortable working a 4×10 or rotating 6-day schedule that flexes with the show calendar and peak season.
Compensation / Benefits
- Base Salary of $50,000-$68,000 DOE and Location
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match of 5%
- Paid time off and holiday schedule
