DISPATCHER in Wilmington, California at SALSON LOGISTICS INC

We are seeking a hardworking, reliable and detail-oriented DISPATCHER to join our team. We are hiring an independent individual who likes to work in a fast-paced environment! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation activities to ensure efficient operations.

MUST have Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach truck/drayage dispatch operating experience.

MUST have Trinium Experience

Responsibilities

Utilize transportation management systems to schedule and dispatch drivers

Communicate with drivers utilizing technology driven tools such as GeoTab, MC3 or similar.

Ensure that data is timely & accurately entered in the company's TMS (Trinium).

Maintain communication with Dispatchers/CSR team to verify and resolve customer and/or shipper’s customer service issues.

Monitor containers to avoid per diem by ensuring that all equipment is returned to the port accordingly to minimize any loss of revenue.

Cost effective and service driven dispatching of all import, export, and other equipment activities.

Possessed the ability to think “outside the box” and strives to dispatch in such a fashion that extra costs are minimal, and the driver’s work production is maximized.

Maintain dispatch system accuracy and in live status; ensure completed work is updated and cleared properly in the system, including but not limited to proper dates and destinations.

Enter notable daily progress, challenges, changes, issues, and all other matters for each equipment move (chassis/container) utilizing dispatch system notes; detailed notes should be entered in each container regarding challenges, changes, issues and all other matters. This must happen to ensure that anyone going into the system to review charges, payments, etc. can easily see what the circumstances are for each move.

Monitor import and/or export container termination status updates from port websites, call centers, and/or steamship lines tools/websites.

Monitor and update all container status and/or progress in dispatch system, computer files, and CSR to include verification of In-Gate and Out-Gate activities; prior to giving another dispatch, you must verify that previously assigned moves have been completed and are verified by using terminal online tools. Once verification has been made, these moves must also be marked as delivered in the system.

Schedule container, chassis, vendor, or tractor appointments with port websites/terminal systems if applicable.

Communicate/update Manager/CSR’s on daily progress, challenges, changes, issues, and all other matters; to include, daily/shift turn over; sending daily rollover/recap report.

Reply to Emails in a timely and professional manner.

Complete other tasks assigned by Management to their fullest potential; there will always be a time when Management will task you with something that may be outside the day-to-day functions of your department. You will be expected to take on those added responsibilities for as long as it is required. As with any task you are assigned, we ask that you do it with a positive attitude and to the best of your ability.
