POSITION SUMMARY

The Grantee Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a range of programs and services aimed at enhancing the well-being and development of children in the head Start program. The individual will work closely with families, enrolled children, and staff to identify and make appropriate referrals to outside mental health and disabilities agencies. The Service Coordinator maintains compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, federal,

state, and local laws and regulations, and CAA policies. The coordinator will assess the needs of children, monitor program effectiveness, and ensure that all services are delivered in a timely, compassionate, and culturally sensitive manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Track and follow-up referrals on children that have been identified as needing additional services through LEA or Help Me Grow.
  2. Identifies, tracks, and refers to children and their parents who may need mental health services.
  3. Conducts observations, screenings, consultations, and assessments as outlined in the yearly work plan.
  4. Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of child services programs, ensuring that services meet the developmental, educational, and emotional needs of children.
  5. Collaborate with families, schools, and community organizations to identify and address the needs of children.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of child services programs, collecting data and making recommendations for improvement.
  7. Maintain accurate records in Child Plus of services provided, client progress, and program outcomes.
  8. Advocate for the needs and rights of children, ensuring that their voices are heard and respected within the services provided.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical guidelines and legal requirements regarding children’s services.
  10. Facilitate Concern Child meetings with designated staff.

  1. Collaborate with professional development team to provide training teaching staff, and parents on mental health and disabilities issues.
  1. Assists in the coordination of mental health/disabilities services provided
  2. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
    1. Provides representation at the Health and Mental Health Services Advisory Committee meetings.
  3. Builds and maintain community partnerships with mental health/disabilities providers serving Head Start families.
    1. Ensures that job duties are performed in compliance with Head Start Performance and Quality Assurance Standards, along with CAA Policies and Procedures.
  4. Ensure that all programs and activities are following local, state, and federal regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, child development, psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Previous experience working with children and families in a social services or educational setting (3-5 years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of child development, educational programs, and family dynamics.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of children, families, and professionals.
    • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
  • Background check and clearance to work with children.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Location – Main office is 1740 Langdon Farm Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, but will be required to travel to different Head Start centers and occasional travel to meet with families or partner agencies.
  • Work Hours – generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with flexibility to support some evening or weekend availability as needed.
  • Onsite work is in an office and early education classroom environment
    • This position is eligible for remote work up to two days per week, defined by department schedules, assuming all eligibility and performance criteria are met and maintained. Hybrid work is not guaranteed and may be withdrawn or changed at management discretion.
    • Planned and unplanned travel to and from Head Start Center and other C-HCCAA or meeting/conference locations,

including overnight and/or out of town travel may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment
  • Walk, bend, kneel, and reach
    • Lift a 20-60 lb. child, using all safety precautions
    • Stand, sit, and play with infants and toddlers for long periods of time
  • Conduct both outdoor and indoor activities, in both warm and cold temperatures
  • Talk, hear, and communicate with parents
    • See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents
