About This Position
Housekeeping Supervisor
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping staff and ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry staff, and public area cleaners
Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with standards
Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to maintain high service standards
Assign tasks and schedules to housekeeping staff based on workload and occupancy levels
Address guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed
Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies
Implement and enforce health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination
Assist with cleaning duties as needed during peak times or staff shortages
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a housekeeping supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and sanitation practices
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality management is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items, including housekeeping carts, cleaning supplies, and furniture, weighing up to [specify weight, e.g., 50 pounds]
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility
Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks with precision and efficiency
Manual dexterity, good vision and hand-eye coordination for using cleaning tools and equipment
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach to clean various surfaces and areas
Strong physical stamina to handle the demands of a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work in various conditions, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and dusty environments
