Staff Accountant at Lucas Oil Products Inc – Corydon, Indiana

Job Purpose:

This position serves as a Staff Accountant for Lucas Oil Products. Responsibilities include, but are

not limited to, day-to-day accounting operations across multiple business entities. This position reports directly to

the Corporate Controller.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Reconciles bank accounts and creates adjusting journal entries.
• Records journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications
• Assist with month end and year end close
• Generate and distribute customer invoices
• Apply customer payments (ACH, wire, check) accurately
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due balances
• Coordinate with internal teams on billing issues and discrepancies
• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Ensure proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs
• Ensure compliance with company policies and account procedures Aids in designing, documenting, and implementing accounting processes and procedures.
• Aids in development of budgets.
• Other responsibilities as requested.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a stationary environment for long periods of time on a computer.
• Ability to travel to different sites as needed

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data
• Understanding of GAAP
• Hands-on experience with AR, AP, and GL accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel

Education/Licenses/Experience Required:

• Degree in accounting or other business-related field is required
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferable in a multi-entity environment
