SUMMARY: The Shipping and Receiving Lead oversees daily operations related to the shipment and receipt of goods at MAKS Plastics. This position ensures that products are correctly packaged, labeled, documented, and dispatched to our partners, and that incoming materials are verified, recorded, and distributed properly throughout the plant. The lead works closely with warehouse staff, logistics providers, and other departments to maintain efficient and accurate inventory flow.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervise shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Schedule and coordinate freight shipments and deliveries.
· Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, damage, and compliance with specifications.
· Oversee the preparation of shipping documents (e.g., packing lists, bills of lading).
· Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation of outgoing shipments.
· Maintain organized shipping and receiving records.
· Communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve shipment issues.
· Train and mentor warehouse personnel on shipping and receiving processes.
· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
· Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with inventory control to reconcile discrepancies.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or technical degree preferred.
· 2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving; 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
· Knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and freight carrier processes.
· Familiarity with inventory software and warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
