Job Summary
Note: This is a 90-day temp-to-permanent position. Avail Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in payroll calculations, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively within a corporate environment.

Duties

• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits administration, and tax information.
• Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and ensure proper accounting of debits and credits.
• Utilize accounting software such as Pay Entry (Time&Pay) for payroll management and reporting functions.
• Handle accounts receivable tasks as needed, ensuring timely collection of payments.
• Collaborate with clients to manage employee benefits administration and resolve any discrepancies related to payroll or benefits.
• Generate reports on payroll data for management review and assist in audits as required.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll laws, and practices.
• Proficiency in payroll management systems such as Pay Entry or Workday.
• Experience with journal entries and understanding of debits and credits in accounting.
• Familiarity with benefits administration processes.

**Hourly Compensation will be based on experience.
