Summary of Position

The Food and Beverage Manager oversees all food and beverage operations in the hotel, ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences while maximizing profitability. This role includes managing staff, maintaining quality standards, designing menus, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and driving revenue through innovative strategies.


Roles and Responsibilities

Job duties include; although are not limited to:

  • Oversee daily food and beverage operations, including restaurant(s), bar(s), room service
  • Ensure all services meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and hospitality.
  • Collaborate with chefs, bartenders, and other team members to develop menus and beverage offerings that align with guest preferences and seasonal trends.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage procurement to ensure consistent stock while minimizing waste.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff, fostering a positive work culture focused on teamwork and excellence.
  • Schedule shifts and ensure adequate staffing for peak and off-peak periods.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and recognition.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing guest feedback promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote special events, seasonal menus, and promotions.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor to interact with guests and resolve any issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and safety standards across all outlets.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols for handling food, beverages, and equipment.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in a Food & Beverage management role with a luxury hotel brand.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control principles.
    • Creative thinking and a passion for culinary innovation.
    • Knowledge of local and international food and beverage trends.
    • Familiarity with POS systems (Micros Symphony), inventory management, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proven knowledge of California Labor Law, expert with implementation of Tip systems, knowledge with Evention preferred.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
    • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training is preferred.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to be extremely active for long periods of time, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout an entire shift
  • Ability to lift and easily maneuver heavy objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Physically able to walk and sit for extended periods of time
