POSITION TITLE: Burn Table Operator (Plasma Table)
LOCATION: North Bay, Ontario
PAY: $21 to $25 per hour
MacLean Engineering is looking for skilled and experienced Machine Operator to join our growing team in North Bay, Ontario This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing team. About the Position: The Machine Operator is responsible responsible for operating basic metal working machinery to perform machining operations on ferrous and nonferrous metals and plastic parts, weldments, or assemblies to engineering specifications in compliance with all MEMCO policies and procedures. This position requires the following proficiencies.
- Read and interpret drawings and layout parts as required to cut, burn or bend component parts to specification
- Set up and operate two or more of a number of metalworking machines such as; band saw, burn table or manual brake press
- Measure final goods to ensure they conform to correct dimensions and/or other specifications on drawings
- Operate material handling devices such as; overhead crane, gantry crane, and forklift in compliance with applicable safety standards and best practices. Material handling includes safe rigging and transportation of various loads
- Adopt and practice good housekeeping, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Ability to distinguish between various types of raw materials
- Responsible for organizing and maintaining raw material racking and storage area
- Responsible for safely organizing finished goods onto correct material handling carts
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Assist supervisor with the training of Machine Operators
- Abide by all applicable regulatory and company-specific safety standards
- Abide by all ISO 9001 Quality Management System and associated procedures
- Contribute to continual improvement of safety, quality, product, production, work environment
- Willing to cross-train in other departments as needed on a temporary basis
About You: The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion
- Some post-secondary education in a related discipline or skilled trade education is preferred
- Related industrial experience in saw / burn and CNC operations.
