We’re looking for a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Shipper/Receiver to join our operations team in Richmond Hill! In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the efficient movement of materials in our facility, ensuring accuracy, care, and compliance with company procedures and client requirements. Ideally you enjoy working with inventory, equipment, and logistics as well!
Key Responsibilities
- Locate, weigh, stage, and load outgoing items as directed.
- Operate warehouse equipment including the Forklift and Reach Truck.
- Verify materials against work orders for accuracy in quantity, destination, and routing.
- Perform cycle counts and prepare shipments using appropriate containers and packing methods.
- Unload incoming shipments and move materials to designated areas.
- Conduct initial inspections and document incoming materials per company procedures.
- Identify and report damaged or incorrect shipments.
- Complete Receiving/Express lot documentation based on project/lot numbers.
- Register and discover materials following company policies.
- Unbox, sort, and track inventory.
- Perform regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in shipping or receiving in an industrial setting (preferred)
- Willing to become Forklift and Reach Truck certified (will be provided)
- Willing to obtain the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) (will be provided)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable with physical tasks and operating warehouse machinery
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Capability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
