Position: Heavy Duty Mechanic
Start Date: May 11, 2026
Job Type: Seasonal Full-time, 10 months per year/ 10 available positions.
Job Description: Do you want to work for one of the largest drilling companies internationally, supplying services to the mining and geological exploration industries?
Primary responsibilities include:
- Diagnose, maintain and repair of heavy-duty equipment including but not limited to, surface and underground drills, bulldozers, farming equipment and other heavy equipment.
- Test and repair hydraulic systems with a flow meter and schematics on a variety of equipment.
- Ability to diagnose problems with 12-24v DC electrical/electronics, including engines, heating systems, start and charging systems.
- Maintenance and repairs may include engines, transmissions, cooling systems, generators, fuel and exhaust systems and clutches.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the crew, colleagues, and Supervisors.
- Ensure to notify the Supervisor of any repair issues.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Tasks are not limited to the above and other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications/Education:
- Preferably have a current registered driver’s license.
- Be physically fit and have good physical dexterity.
- Prefer working outdoors.
- Enjoy travel or at least adapt to a nomadic lifestyle.
- Be adaptive to living without the normal comforts of home.
- Be able to work for long hours under prevailing climatic conditions.
- Good communication and mathematical skills.
- Preferably have a mechanical background and aptitude, with skills in operating and maintaining machinery
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test with random tests.
- Grade 12
- Have a valid First Aid level C
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with underground long hole and exploration drills and mining equipment (Preferred)
- Able to work with limited supervision
- Able to travel, work long hours & shift work for extended periods (camp setting)
- Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
Applicants must also possess a work history that highlights the following combination of skills and experience: On-the-job training is provided. Previous experience in the diamond drill industry is an asset. Preferred candidates will be self-motivated, strong communication and problem-solving skills, well-organized, works well with others and is interested in making a change.
Wages: $34.00 - $50.00
