At method Studio, interior designers are part of that conversation from the beginning. They work alongside architects, clients, consultants, and healthcare teams from programming and planning through construction documentation, furniture, and implementation.

We’re looking for a Senior Interior Designer with healthcare experience who can lead that process—and help lead and grow our healthcare market alongside our Principal Architect. This is an opportunity to influence not only individual projects, but the continued development of our healthcare practice.

As a Senior Interior Designer focused on healthcare, you’ll shape environments that balance human experience with demanding operational, technical, and regulatory requirements. You will:

• Partner with our Principal Architect to help lead the healthcare market, strengthening our design approach, client relationships, team expertise, and body of work.
• Lead interior design from programming through construction, developing solutions that support patient experience, staff workflow, safety, and long-term performance.
• Own the interior design documentation process, guiding coordinated DD and CD sets including plans, elevations, RCPs, finish documentation, details, schedules, and specifications.
• Translate design concepts into buildable solutions, maintaining design intent while addressing codes, accessibility, infection control, durability, maintenance, and constructability.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and healthcare teams to resolve complex interdisciplinary conditions.
• Build trusted client relationships, facilitating conversations with healthcare leaders, facilities teams, user groups, and other stakeholders.
• Guide and mentor project teams, reviewing work and developing designers’ creative and technical capabilities.
• Lead finish, material, furniture, and FF&E development, balancing aesthetics with performance, cleanability, lifecycle, budget, and schedule.
• Stay engaged through construction, reviewing submittals and shop drawings and helping resolve field conditions while protecting design intent.

You understand that successful healthcare interiors require both empathy and precision. You can think about how a patient experiences a space while understanding what it takes to document, coordinate, and construct it.

• 7+ years of professional interior design experience
• Professional experience designing healthcare environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience leading projects and design teams
• Strong experience developing and overseeing Design Development and Construction Document packages
• Thorough understanding of plans, elevations, RCPs, details, finish plans, schedules, and specifications
• Knowledge of healthcare design requirements, building codes, accessibility, and material performance
• Ability to review documentation for design intent, completeness, coordination, and constructability
• Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and healthcare stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of commercial finishes, furniture, FF&E, and detailing
• Proficiency in Revit and SketchUp
• Strong client communication, presentation, organization, and collaboration skills
• Experience mentoring junior designers
• NCIDQ certification preferred
