Pay Rate: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

Hours: 20 hours - flexible within the M-F work week - some weekends hours as department needs

Location: Simsbury, CT

POSITION SUMMARY: Works with the Boundless wellness team to implement and facilitate engaging programs and services geared toward meeting a variety of resident needs, with a balance of productive leisure, Physical fitness, recreational and educational activities recognizing the individuality of each resident.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Collaborates with residents to provide an environment that meets the social and activity needs of our residents and community members.

2. Develops and implements well rounded opportunities for engagement, meaningful pursuits, social interaction, growth learning, fun and enjoyment,

3. Works with volunteers, staff, and community resources.

4. Includes evening and weekend programming opportunities.

5. Embrace the philosophy that activity and engagement promote a sense of wellness and reduces isolation.

6. Leads Physical fitness related activities including group exercise and personal training.

7. Provides wellness education and coaching related to individual physical health and wellness goals.

8. Drives vehicles as needed for resident functions.

9. Works with Village team members to promote a safe and welcoming environment.

10. Supports atmosphere conducive to independence.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge. Skills. Abilities:

Must have experience in program community recreation, leadership, and working with the mature adult.

Certified personal trainer required.

Skill in communicating effectively with residents, families and staff.

Skill and competency in planning, developing, implementing, and leading a vibrant program of opportunities for residents, and at times community, to engage in.

Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.

Experience in fitness for the 55 and over population.

Experience leading multi-level group exercise

Competency in organizational skills and multi-tasking. Effective written communication skills Ability to inspire and engage others.

Proficient with Microsoft word, outlook and excel platforms.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to adhere to regulatory guidelines.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Certification/Licensure: Valid Driver's License, Fitness training certification (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM) or medical/ wellness coaching certification required. CPR and AED certified. Specialty certification (Zumba gold, yoga, step, aquatics) highly preferred. Nutrition certification is a bonus. Minimum 1 year of experience in fitness education and wellness promotion. Qualified for F Category License a plus.
