Job Description
The Warehouse Associate creates value for our customers by performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, organizing, and retrieving stock. The Warehouse Associate also provides occasional backup as a Delivery Driver. The Warehouse Associate is expected to learn about our inventory management processes, thoroughly and actively, contribute to the continuous improvement of how we receive, store, pick, pack, and ship product so that orders are completed accurately, safely, and on time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain safe practices to load and unload merchandise in delivery trucks using appropriate equipment and tools, or while moving merchandise onsite.
2. Accommodate and carefully handle fragile merchandise and heavy goods.
3. Receive shipments of purchase orders, and verify quantities against documentation, to ensure inventory on hand perfectly matches the systems of record.
4. Tag, label, and organize merchandise as required to enable efficient down-stream processes.
5. Putaway or organize inventory in designated locations.
6. Pick and prepare orders for shipment, guaranteeing Reliability in the process.
7. Box, wrap and pack merchandise in accordance with relevant procedures, standards, dunnage, and equipment to enable efficient and undamaged delivery of customer orders.
8. Promptly record and manage all missing or damaged inventory to minimize company losses, per the required process based on inventory status.
9. Safely operate handling equipment such as forklifts in accordance with Cal/OSHA-required training and certification and established procedures.
10. Access and enter data as required to properly perform warehouse functions.
11. Occasionally deliver products to customers via the use of a company vehicle, safely, courteously, and in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
12. Learn, follow, and consistently apply standardized inventory handling processes (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping) and warehouse systems; demonstrate steady progress toward full proficiency in completing tasks accurately and on time.
13. Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts: identify inefficiencies, errors, and safety concerns; suggest practical improvements; and support the implementation of efficient best practices.
14. Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area that supports efficient and safe order fulfillment.
15. Meet established productivity, accuracy, and quality expectations.
16. Remain current on all required training courses as mandated by Gordon Electric Supply.
17. Perform other job and work-related responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed.

Education, Experience, Credentials
•Post-high-school education preferred.
•Forklift / powered industrial truck certification preferred; required certification will be provided or obtained in accordance with Cal/OSHA standards within a reasonable period of hire.
•Valid California driver's license and an acceptable driving record required if performing delivery duties.
Physical Demands
•Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb for extended periods.
•Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, with the use of appropriate equipment or assistance.
•Work in a warehouse environment that may include exposure to varying temperatures; the Company maintains a Heat Illness Prevention program in accordance with Cal/OSHA requirements.
•Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed.
