MFM Sonographer – Lead Trainer | Central Texas Region | Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced MFM Sonographer to serve as Lead Trainer for the Central Texas region. This role balances clinical responsibilities with training, leadership, and administrative responsibilities to support quality patient care, consistent clinical performance, and successful team-member development.
The Lead Trainer will oversee clinical training and continued development within Central Texas while collaborating with Directors of Regional Services, Charge Sonographers, trainers, and clinical leadership. Although this role is primarily responsible for Central Texas, the Lead Trainer may share best practices, resources, and training support with other BB Imaging regions.

What You’ll Do
Training Leadership and Development
- Lead clinical training, skill development, onboarding, and trainer support for Central Texas sonographers, ensuring consistent protocols, workflows, documentation, equipment use, and patient-care expectations.
- Support onboarding and orientation for new clinical team members, including company protocols, equipment, workflows, documentation, and patient-care expectations.
- Coach trainers to deliver consistent, effective, and professional training experiences.
- Manage Central Texas training chat threads, monitor questions and progress, and escalate significant barriers or concerns.
- Share best practices, resources, lessons learned, and training support with other BB Imaging regions when requested and operationally feasible.
Training Culture and Team Development
- Foster a supportive, professional training environment where team members feel comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and continuing to grow.
- Promote clinical accountability through coaching, encouragement, and practical support.
- Recognize training milestones, clinical achievements, and professional development. Identify and address concerns related to engagement, communication, or training support early in partnership with regional leadership.
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing among trainees, trainers, Charge Sonographers, and clinical leaders.
- Model BB Imaging’s People First values throughout onboarding, training, and team education.
Skills Assessments and Training Planning
- Conduct or support clinical skills assessments during the interview, onboarding, and development processes.
- Evaluate demonstrated competencies, experience, credentials, and development need to recommend the appropriate length and complexity of training.
- Clearly document and communicate assessment findings, training recommendations, and identified risks to the Regional Director and other appropriate stakeholders.
- Reassess training recommendations when performance or progression differ significantly from the original plan.
Training Progression and Mid-Training Reviews
- Monitor trainee progress, competency milestones, documentation, and anticipated completion dates.
- Conduct structured Mid-Training Reviews with trainees, trainers, and regional leadership.
- Identify delays, skill gaps, documentation concerns, or barriers early and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely information in the BBI Training Tracker.
- Provide clear updates regarding training progression, anticipated completion, adjustments, and resource needs.
- Support targeted clinical development and Performance Support Plans when requested.
Quality and Clinical Excellence
- Support timely completion of QA and post-training QA requirements within Central Texas.
- Review training and QA information to identify clinical trends and opportunities for focused education.
- Collaborate with the Regional Director and Charge Sonographers to develop training interventions that improve clinical quality, consistency, and exam completion.
- Track relevant training and quality metrics and provide routine updates to regional and clinical leadership.
- Share successful quality improvement strategies and educational resources with other regions.
Clinical Education
- Develop educational materials and presentations aligned with clinical excellence and identified team needs.
- Identify and coordinate qualified internal or external presenters when specialized clinical education benefits the team.
- Support educational content for team calls, training sessions, skills labs, and other clinical-development opportunities.
- Introduce new clinical team members and help communicate their training plan and assigned support.
- Maintain organized educational resources that promote continued learning and consistent clinical practice.
DMS Program and Student Support
- Build and maintain relationships with DMS programs and local colleges supporting the Central Texas market.
- Coordinate with program leaders, regional leadership, clinics, and trainers to support student rotations and educational opportunities.
- Help ensure BB Imaging has appropriate participation and representation with priority local programs.
- Support student engagement through clinical rotations, presentations, skills labs, mentoring, and other appropriate activities.
- Help identify high-performing students who may be strong future candidates for BB Imaging.
- Share successful student engagement practices with other regions.
Training Resources and Documentation
- Compile, prepare, and maintain standardized physical and electronic training binders.
- Ensure binders contain current protocols, competency documentation, training checklists, required forms, educational resources, and applicable client-specific materials.
- Review training materials routinely and replace outdated information.
- Maintain consistent organization and version control for training resources.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to share useful materials and support resource consistency across regions.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner closely with the Central Texas Regional Director, Charge Sonographers, trainers, Resource Planning, People & Culture, and other clinical leaders.
- Serve as a Central Texas subject matter resource for training and clinical development matters.
- Communicate professionally and promptly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advocate for trainees and trainers while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
- Promote a supportive, professional, and growth-focused training environment.
