Responsibilities:
- Support workforce planning and succession initiatives to ensure long-term business continuity
- Benchmark compensation to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity
- Promote cross-functional HR best practices across multiple business units
- Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs
- Manage onboarding processes tailored to different departments and roles
- Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, and employee development
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee relations, questions, and HR support
- Mediate employee conflicts and foster a positive, respectful workplace culture
- Coordinate recruiting activities including job postings, screening, and interview scheduling
- Administer payroll and benefits programs accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and ongoing support
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support workplace safety initiatives and OSHA compliance
- Prepare required reports including EEO-1 and OSHA logs
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with HR systems and process improvements to increase efficiency
- Prepare HR reports and metrics to support leadership decision-making
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3-5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a small business environment (manufacturing a plus)
- Previous payroll experience with Paychex
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
- Ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting multi-entity or family-owned businesses
- Bilingual capabilities
- Experience with training program development and workforce planning
- Exposure to OSHA compliance and safety programs
