Job Description
GGLO is hiring for Architectural Designers / Architects to join their firm. In this role, you are integral to the successful delivery of GGLO’s projects. This position effectively translates design concepts into coordinated, buildable projects and supports technical execution from schematic design through construction documentation. Balancing a big-picture perspective with attention to detail, the Architectural Designer / Architect implements the technical clarity, completeness, and accuracy of project documents, crucial for project success. This role requires coordination of various project aspects to support exceptional design accompanied by impeccable documentation.
Position DetailsKey Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to the following:Design & Documentation
- Support the development of architectural design concepts and produce coordinated drawings and construction documentation across project phases.
- Ensure documentation aligns with design intent, project scope, and established standards.
- Project & Team Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams, engineers, contractors, and clients to support project delivery and maintain design intent throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the development of architectural details and construction solutions with guidance from project leadership.
- Implement markups and revisions accurately and efficiently across project documents.
- Conduct research related to building codes, zoning regulations, and applicable standards to inform design decisions and support compliance.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations.
- Support construction phase activities, including site visits and documentation coordination, under the guidance of project leadership.
- Review models, drawings, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and coordination; check own work thoroughly.
- Support team workflows by updating task lists, completing assignments, and contributing to overall project progress.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned work.
- On smaller projects, serve in a supporting Project Architect or Job Captain capacity with oversight from project leadership.
Technical & Design Execution
- Proficiency with architectural design and documentation tools such as Revit, Revizto, Rhino, and Bluebeam.
- Ability to produce accurate, coordinated construction documentation.
- Basic understanding of building systems, materials, and construction detailing.
- Working knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
- Foundational understanding of how projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Understanding of how design decisions impact scope, schedule, and budget.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Careful attention to detail with consistent documentation and recordkeeping.
- Sound judgment, adaptability, and problem-solving capability.
- Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Communicates clearly to support coordination and project alignment.
- Demonstrates initiative and accountability for assigned work.
- Contributes to an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
- Maintains professionalism in high-pressure or ambiguous situations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Architectural license required for Architect title; unlicensed professionals will be considered as Architectural Designers.
- 3+ years of professional experience in architectural design.
- Experience supporting design, coordination, and documentation across multiple project phases.
- Experience with commercial, multi-family, or mixed-use projects preferred.
