Job Description

Head of New Markets

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Head of New Markets in Canada.

This is a high-impact, strategic growth leadership role focused on identifying, validating, and scaling new revenue opportunities across emerging market segments. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, experimentation, and go-to-market execution, defining where the business expands next and how it wins in those spaces. The role requires a strong commercial mindset combined with analytical rigor to evaluate market potential, design growth strategies, and validate them through real-world testing. You will lead early-stage expansion efforts, starting with accounting services, while simultaneously assessing additional verticals for future growth. Rather than executing day-to-day sales, you will shape market direction, positioning, and success metrics before handing execution to operational teams. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, offering the opportunity to directly influence the company’s next phase of expansion.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and lead the expansion strategy into new verticals, starting with the accounting services market, ensuring measurable revenue impact.
  • Design, launch, and evaluate growth experiments across new acquisition channels, including content-led strategies, partnerships, and event-driven initiatives.
  • Assess and prioritize new market opportunities by analyzing TAM, competitive landscape, buyer behavior, and monetization potential.
  • Develop full go-to-market strategies for selected verticals, including positioning, ICP definition, messaging, channel strategy, and pipeline targets.
  • Own market performance outcomes, ensuring alignment between strategy, pipeline generation, and revenue contribution.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to align priorities and ensure consistent execution of new market initiatives.
  • Advise on high-impact growth initiatives such as conference strategy and ecosystem partnerships.
  • Translate learnings from experiments into scalable playbooks and actionable recommendations for broader adoption.
Requirements
  • 7–12 years of experience in growth strategy, business development, or go-to-market roles within B2B SaaS or fintech environments.
  • Proven track record of taking new markets from exploration to measurable revenue generation.
  • Strong experience working in scaling organizations, ideally between early and mid-growth stages (approx. $3M–$30M ARR).
  • Ability to rapidly switch between strategic planning, execution frameworks, and executive-level communication.
  • Strong analytical skills with a test-and-learn mindset and comfort making data-driven decisions under uncertainty.
  • Experience building or contributing to go-to-market strategies, including positioning, segmentation, and pipeline planning.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across Product, Marketing, Sales, and executive teams.
  • Familiarity with fintech, payments, MSP ecosystems, or private equity-backed environments is a plus.
  • Experience working with tools such as Salesforce, Apollo, or marketing analytics platforms is an asset.
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance experimentation with disciplined execution.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package with total on-target earnings between 200,000 and 240,000 CAD
  • Equity participation to share in company growth and success
  • Hybrid work model based in Toronto, offering flexibility and in-person collaboration
  • Unlimited PTO policy to support work-life balance
  • Annual learning and development budget to support continuous growth
  • Opportunity to shape and lead new market expansion strategy from the ground up
  • High-impact role with direct influence on company revenue and strategic direction
  • Collaborative, fast-moving environment with strong ownership culture
  • Inclusive workplace focused on transparency, accountability, and innovation.
