Accounting Manager in Fairview Heights, Illinois at JACOB FAMILY ENTERPRISES INC

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This position will manage the accounting function, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and provide financial insight to support business decisions.

The ideal candidate will also take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, increase efficiency, and reduce costs without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliations.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to leadership.
• Maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning.
• Coordinate with external accountants, tax professionals, auditors, insurance partners, banks, and other financial partners.
• Support annual tax preparation and provide required financial documentation.
• Oversee payroll-related accounting and reconciliations.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous accounting management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial statements, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting or financial software.
