About This Position

BIOMED II/DIALYSIS

The BioMed Department is looking for a BMET II service technician with knowledge of Dialysis equipment. In this role you will properly respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, repair and perform planned maintenance (PM) on complex Biomedical, Dialysis and Water Treatment equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES will include but are not limited to:

Repair, maintain and support Dialysis Machines, Water Systems and Ancillary Medical Equipment located in dialysis area.

Document all repairs and preventive maintenance as recommended by manufacturer.

Responsible for cost inhibition with regards to equipment maintenance and repair.

Maintain and organize all equipment service related documents for State, Federal and other regulatory agency inspection.

Attend and participate in vendor training for dialysis equipment and other equipment located in dialysis area.

Participate in Quality Assessment and Process Improvement (QAPI) process.

Perform water and Dialysate sample collection and processing as per hospital policies and procedure.

Assist in transporting dialysis machines, water equipment and supplies as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain frequently used repair parts inventory.

Work well with vendors.

Biomedical Technician II will be required to rotate after hours call and be able to respond within a half-hour window.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have knowledge of Dialysis and Water Treatment Equipment and its function; minimum 2 years.

Familiarity with Local and State laws are a plus.

Associate degree or higher formal training in electronics or Three (3) or more years experience in medical electronics service and repair.

Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET) desired.

Possess the ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and follow signal flow in complex circuits.

Have the ability to use basic and advanced test equipment and hand tools proficiently.

Must be physically able to climb ladders, lift objects and work in awkward positions.

Must have high degree of manual dexterity.

Selected candidate should live in the surrounding areas of Shreveport/Bossier, LA.
