About This Position
Summary
The Prevention & Lifestyle Medicine Registered Dietitian (RDN) plays a key role in advancing Parkview Health’s mission to improve health and inspire well-being by delivering evidence-based nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine programming. This position focuses on preventing, managing, and helping to reverse chronic diseases through practical education, culinary medicine, behavior-change support, and community engagement.
Working within the Community Nutrition team, this RDN leads classes, workshops, screenings, demonstrations, and patient-centered services including but not limited to Power By Plants, Ask the Dietitian, Lifestyle Medicine 101, grocery store tours, and culinary medicine sessions offered across Allen and Kosciusko counties. This role ensures equitable access to high-quality nutrition education and supports Parkview’s Community Health Needs Assessment priorities: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, maternal and infant health, cancer, and food insecurity.
This RDN collaborates with internal partners and community organizations, collects and documents program data, contributes to evaluation and reporting requirements, and supports cross-coverage for countywide nutrition initiatives. The Prevention & Lifestyle Medicine RDN is expected to provide culturally responsive care, uphold evidence-based practice standards, and empower individuals and communities with the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to build healthier lives.
The Prevention & Lifestyle Medicine RDN role requires the board certification in Lifestyle Medicine (American College of Lifestyle Medicine) or ability to obtain certification within established timeframe after hire.
In addition to Prevention and Lifestyle Medicine responsibilities, this RDN contributes to shared Community Nutrition work such as community outreach events, data collection, reporting, cross-coverage for countywide initiatives, and participation in policy and system-level efforts that advance long-term community well-being.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) accepted equivalence. Completed internship approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Master's degree in Dietetics preferred (required beginning January 1, 2024 for new RDNs).
Licensure/Certification
Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetics Registration. Must also be licensed by the state of Indiana within 90 days of start date. ACLM Certification within 2 years of hire.
Experience
3 to 5 years as an RDN in a clinical setting. Prior experience with patient education, project management, and/or outreach preferred.
Other Qualifications
Ability to present education in a variety of formats, comfortable with public speaking and presentations. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
