Job Title: Mechanical Design Drafter
Reports To: Supervisor, Mechanical Design Drafters
Location: HQ-Allentown PA

Summary:
This position offers an opportunity for a Mechanical Designer to collaborate with engineering to develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings for cryogenic refrigeration systems. The role supports product development from concept through production using SolidWorks CAD tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Create 3D models, develop design layouts, and prepare 2D manufacturing drawings, assemblies and fixtures using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Prepare and review drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with company standards.
- Process revisions to models and drawings following document change control procedures.
- Write product specifications and develop standard operating procedures.
- Select catalog components and create bills of materials (BOMs).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering CAD Technology, or a related field, plus 3+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in SolidWorks and 2D CAD including familiarity with SolidWorks product data management (PDM).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, tubing assemblies, sheet metal, and electrical schematics
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, surface finishes, weld symbols, brazing/soldering, and material selection.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic image/photo editing tools
- Able to use company ERP system to check material and part availability.
