Unit Manager (RN) at Long Term Care Facility – Amsterdam, New York

River Ridge Living Center is seeking a Full-Time Unit Manager (RN) to lead and support staff while ensuring high-quality care for long-term care and sub-acute rehabilitation residents. This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise nursing staff and residents on the assigned unit
• Oversee admissions and readmissions of residents
• Initiate and update individualized care plans
• Conduct rounds with attending physicians
• Complete progress notes, document vital signs, weights, and any pertinent changes in the resident's condition
• Complete and maintain MDS documentation specific to the unit
• Ensure residents’ comfort, safety, dignity, and privacy at all times
• Provide guidance, education, and emotional support to residents and their families

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in long-term care, sub-acute rehab, or acute care (preferred)
• Minimum of two years of supervisory experience
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with residents, families, and team members
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
