Job Description

Program length is 6-9 months including an 18-week classroom phase followed by a clinical apprenticeship requiring 180 clinical hours and 125 documented surgical cases. Participants are hired as full-time, RRMC employees on day one and receive pay, benefits, mentorship, classroom instruction, simulation training, and operating room experience.
The surgical technologist assists with all types of surgical procedures, and performs related services in order to give optimum nursing care under the direction of a professional nurse. This person functions in the scrub area and works with the surgical team to provide a safe intraoperative environment for the patient undergoing an operative procedure.
Minimum Education
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology*
*Or successful completion of the RRMC OR Surgical Tech in Training Program within 6-9 months.
Minimum Work Experience
- 1 year of surgical technologist experience in hospital operating room setting preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- National certification, CST or CFA preferred.
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
Pay Range = $26.57 - $38.71
