Description:

We are seeking a driven and experienced Surety Risk Advisor to grow and manage our developing surety bond portfolio in the Florida marketplace. You will identify new business opportunities in commercial and construction surety, maintain relationships with existing clients and collaborate with underwriters to secure bond approvals. The ideal candidate has a strong network in the construction industry, a deep understanding of financial underwriting, and the pre-qualification process.

Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Source and secure new surety accounts through networking with construction oriented accounting firms, Certified Public Accountants, and other lead sources.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and commercial surety clients to manage their ongoing bonding needs.
  • Financial Analysis: Review client financial statements, work in progress (WIP) reports, and credit histories to assess bonding capacity.
  • Underwriter Collaboration: Present account submissions to surety companies and negotiate favorable terms and bond capacity for clients.
  • Market Networking: Join, attend, and be invested in the local construction market through active membership organizations like the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), association of General Contractors (AGC), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) etc.
  • Technology: Effectively use MS Office, agency systems, AI tools, and other technologies.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate across teams to support clients and agency goals, and demonstrate alignment with our purpose, values, and culture.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the Surety industry either as a Risk Advisor (producer) or as a surety company underwriter.
  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance license.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
  • Strong financial literacy, sharp negotiation skills, clear effective communicator.
  • Team player with resilience.

General Working Conditions

  • Dynamic environment with frequent communication via in person, video, email, and phone.
  • Offsite client, network, and prospect meetings require non-standard normal working hours – expect evening events and travel as normal course of business.
  • Ability to view computer monitors for extended periods of time.

Compensation
This is a commission-based role. A draw may be provided during the initial validation period. Total compensation is based on performance and can range from $100,000k+ with uncapped commission earnings potential on new and renewal business. The stated range reflects the Company's good-faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of posting.

Eligible employees may participate in comprehensive benefit programs, including medical and dental insurance, a 401K plan, paid time off, T&E depending on role, and licensing, and continuing education reimbursement.

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.
