Job Description
Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to provide HR support to ensure the effective operation of the facility.
Essential Job Functions Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares and distributes new employee benefits packets for all company properties
- Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of new employee orientations; assists with orientation presentations as requested by the HR Manager.
- Responsible for collecting all benefits applications, verifying correct completion of all benefit forms, and mailing them in a timely manner to Marsh or the appropriate insurance carrier.
- Completes social security number and alien residency verifications for all new hires who are not United States citizens prior to their start date.
- Responsible for ensuring the employee "Audit Checklists" are up-to-date at all times (i.e. tracking of orientation and new hire paperwork, inservices, etc.).
- Assists with the reconciliation of the monthly benefits invoices
- Responsible for entering into HR Profile new employee training information, tracking employee required in-services, and notifying the Staff Development Coordinator of upcoming training needs.
- Completes unemployment verifications as received. Assists HR Manager with gathering information to prepare for additional information requests or appeal responses.
- Assists with the preparation of requests for information from outside parties regarding legal action
- Assists with State Surveys by providing the surveyors with Human Resource and employee information as requested
- Provides information and support to employees as needed, and involves the HR Manager when appropriate
- Receives incoming phone calls and forwards promptly to the HR Manager when necessary.
- Assists HR Manager with the completion of monthly turnover reports for the all properties.
- Assists with annual benefits enrollment meetings and the collection of all benefits applications for the company properties.
- Ensures required state and federal labor law posters are posted at all of the company properties.
- Collects internal and external mail from all company properties and distributes within Human Resources as appropriate.
- Prepares and posts notices to employees as requested by the HR Manager
- Requests reports from the Payroll Department when needed.
- Assists with filing as needed.

- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and potentially hostile people within the facility.
Education and Experience
- Prefer a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Paylocity a plus
