This position is for you if:
- You are knowledgeable in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- You have basic welding and fabrication experience.
- You are skilled in repairing conveyor systems, motors, pumps, and production equipment.
- You are comfortable working in a fast-paced agricultural/manufacturing environment.
Job Summary:
The successful Maintenance Technician I will assist greenhouse personnel by performing preventative and routine maintenance tasks as assigned, troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. This position plays an important role in maintaining safe and reliable operations while supporting the company’s policies, goals, and objectives.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and light mechanical issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty circuits and equipment.
- Analyze and repair plumbing, irrigation, and water well system issues.
- Install and repair pipe, fittings, fixtures, pumps, water treatment systems, irrigation systems, and sprinklers.
- Operate welders, drill presses, grinders, hand tools, and other maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on buildings, greenhouses, and nursery structures.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and maintenance records.
- Follow all company safety policies including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
- Work professionally and collaboratively with vendors, contractors, and fellow team members.
- Participate in rotating weekend on-call schedules as needed.
- Support overall nursery operations and assist with additional maintenance-related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of a certified course in a maintenance-related field such as Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, or similar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing, carpentry, mechanics, and basic electrical repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
- Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Clean criminal background and drug-free workplace compliance required.
