This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Software Engineer – Robot Applications & Voice AI based in United States.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of intelligent humanoid robotics by building the software layer that enables natural human-robot interaction.
The Principal Software Engineer will develop advanced AI-powered applications that transform human intent into meaningful robotic actions.
You will work at the intersection of Voice AI, Agentic AI, multimodal reasoning, and robotics to create intuitive experiences.
The position involves designing cognitive systems, orchestration frameworks, and application architectures for next-generation robotic platforms.
You will collaborate with experts across AI, robotics, cloud, embedded systems, and conversational technologies in an innovative environment.
This is a highly impactful opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges and bringing emerging technologies into real-world applications.
The Principal Software Engineer will own the development of the application and cognitive layers that power intelligent robotic experiences. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to translate complex AI capabilities into reliable, user-focused robotic behaviors.
- Design and develop high-level application software, interaction workflows, and robotic behavioral systems that enable intelligent robot experiences.
- Build orchestration logic that converts human speech, gestures, environmental inputs, and contextual signals into reliable robotic actions.
- Develop multimodal interaction systems integrating voice, vision, spatial awareness, and contextual understanding.
- Create advanced voice applications supporting speech recognition, natural language understanding, dialogue management, wake-word detection, and text-to-speech capabilities.
- Build Agentic AI workflows using large language models (LLMs), vision-language models (VLMs), memory systems, tool-calling frameworks, and reasoning engines.
- Integrate robotic capabilities including navigation, manipulation, perception, and device-control services into application workflows.
- Design software architectures that balance edge computing requirements with cloud-based AI services for performance and scalability.
- Develop integrations between robotic platforms, mobile devices, enterprise applications, smart ecosystems, and cloud APIs.
- Implement telemetry, logging, evaluation systems, and feedback loops that support continuous improvement of AI models and applications.
- Contribute to production readiness through automated testing, debugging, observability, CI/CD practices, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across robotics, AI, speech technologies, embedded systems, and cloud infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in AI-powered applications, distributed systems, and emerging robotics technologies. They should have the ability to design scalable solutions, work independently on complex problems, and deliver production-ready software in a fast-moving environment.
