POSITION SUMMARY

Manager, Environmental Services

Summary:
-
Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Performs various daily cleaning duties including: removing trash, cleaning rooms, halls, walls and windows as needed, dusting and vacuuming, maintaining daily cleaning log, etc.

Work Schedule:

Rotating weekends and holidays. Must be able to work non-standard hours, sometimes in excess of 40 hours per week.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience

Experience with/knowledge of cleaning chemicals preferred.

Computer Skills
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.

Certificates & Licenses

Certification in BioHazard waste management is required within 6 months of hire.

Other Requirements
-
Knowledge of housekeeping policies and procedures. This position requires frequent standing, walking, use of your hands and fingers, kneeling, bending, squatting, reaching out, reaching above the shoulders, and pushing and pulling 0–100+ lbs.

Essential Functions
- Collects and disposes of trash using accepted procedures.
- Clean building floors by dusting and moping (wet & dry) following written policies.
- Performs all aspects of the job with safety and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and compliance efforts.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Dusts and cleans furniture, woodwork, beds, fixtures and any surface that collects dust or bacteria using procedures for sanitation as trained.
- Clean and dust rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met.
- Utilizes appropriate electrical equipment following established protocols.
