Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Account Management - ShareGate based in Canada.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity focused on transforming an established account management function into a proactive, expansion-led growth engine. You will lead a team of 4–8 Account Managers responsible for renewals, retention, and expansion across an existing customer base. The role combines people leadership, commercial strategy, pipeline management, and hands-on deal coaching. You’ll guide the shift from high-volume, transactional renewals toward a more segmented and deliberate customer engagement model. You’ll also play a key role in growing cross-sell revenue and strengthening customer retention. Working closely with RevOps, Finance, Legal, Channel, and other teams, you’ll have significant influence over how the function evolves.
- Lead a team of 4–8 Account Managers and drive performance against team-level Gross Revenue Retention (GRR), Net Revenue Retention (NRR), and expansion targets.
- Transform the existing high-velocity renewal motion into a structured, segmented, and expansion-focused approach while maintaining operational performance throughout the transition.
- Build proactive renewal strategies that identify opportunities and risks well before renewal deadlines, rather than relying on reactive engagement.
- Drive cross-sell growth across the existing customer base by coaching Account Managers on identifying opportunities, opening second-product conversations, and converting expansion potential into revenue.
- Coach team members through weekly 1:1s, pipeline reviews, live deal observation, and practical feedback designed to build long-term commercial capability.
- Identify early churn signals, develop retention strategies, and escalate customer risks before they become critical renewal issues.
- Maintain accurate and reliable forecasting by enforcing strong CRM and pipeline hygiene and using AI-enabled analysis to turn customer and pipeline data into actionable decisions.
- Partner with RevOps, Channel, Finance, Legal, Sales Enablement, and Product Marketing on segmentation, reporting, capacity planning, commercial processes, and cross-sell positioning.
- Develop and continuously improve account management playbooks, processes, and sales strategies based on performance data and lessons learned.
- Establish clear communication and operating rhythms that keep the team aligned during periods of change and evolving priorities.
- Use customer, pipeline, and market insights to identify opportunities for improving retention, expansion, and overall account performance.
- 2+ years of experience managing an Account Management or Customer Success team with direct accountability for renewal and expansion performance.
- Demonstrated success achieving retention, revenue, and expansion targets in a B2B SaaS or technology environment.
- Experience managing both high-volume, transactional renewal motions and more strategic, consultative customer relationships, with the judgment to apply the right approach to different account segments.
- Strong commercial and analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret pipeline data, identify trends, forecast accurately, and translate insights into action.
- Proven ability to lead teams through organizational or process change while maintaining trust, engagement, and performance.
- Strong coaching skills, including the ability to observe customer conversations, identify areas for improvement, and provide direct, actionable feedback.
- A builder mindset with the ability to experiment, evaluate results quickly, adapt strategies, and bring the team along through change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a transparent and collaborative leadership style.
- Practical experience using AI tools to analyze CRM data, develop workflows, improve productivity, and support commercial decision-making.
- HubSpot experience is an advantage, particularly in relation to pipeline management and forecasting.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem or experience transitioning a velocity-driven customer team toward an expansion-led model is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where priorities and solutions may evolve.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Revenue Operations, Finance, Legal, Channel, Sales Enablement, Product Marketing, and other stakeholders.
- Base salary of $110,000–$130,000 CAD, with final compensation adjusted according to region and local market conditions.
- 65% base / 35% variable compensation structure.
- Target OTE of $170,000–$200,000 CAD.
- Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP), providing an opportunity to participate in the organization’s long-term growth.
- RRSP program.
- Family health insurance, telemedicine, and an annual wellness budget.
- Flexible vacation policy.
- Remote-first work environment with access to a Montreal office.
- In-person team gatherings twice per year.
- Access to Claude and AI-powered tools to support productivity and smarter decision-making.
- Collaborative, fast-moving culture with significant autonomy and opportunities to influence business strategy.
- Opportunities for professional growth while working alongside cross-functional and international teams.
