This role offers the opportunity to lead the evolution of enterprise database platforms across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
The Senior Cloud DBA will drive database reliability, security, performance, and modernization initiatives while supporting critical business applications.
You will manage complex database ecosystems spanning SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Databricks.
The position combines hands-on technical expertise with cloud migration, automation, DevOps practices, and strategic platform optimization.
You will play a key role in improving scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency through innovative database engineering solutions.

The Senior Cloud DBA will own the lifecycle management, optimization, and security of enterprise database environments while supporting cloud transformation initiatives. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to implement reliable database solutions across complex infrastructures.
- Lead database administration across hybrid environments, including on-premises SQL Server, Azure SQL Managed Instance, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Databricks platforms.
- Plan and execute database migration strategies from on-premises environments to cloud platforms while minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
- Evaluate database workloads and recommend appropriate target platforms based on scalability, security, and business requirements.
- Perform SQL Server maintenance activities, including index optimization, statistics updates, integrity checks, query tuning, and execution plan analysis.
- Manage cloud-native database services, including Azure SQL configurations, PostgreSQL replication, Snowflake administration, and Databricks platform support.
- Implement and maintain database security controls, access management, encryption, auditing, and governance practices.
- Design and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, backup strategies, and recovery testing.
- Build and maintain database deployment automation using CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and version-controlled migration processes.
- Develop automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to improve database operations, deployments, and maintenance workflows.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance management solutions using tools such as Azure Monitor, Grafana, Datadog, or similar platforms.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot complex database issues, and support continuous improvements across database environments.
The ideal candidate is an experienced database administrator with strong cloud expertise and a proven ability to manage enterprise-scale database platforms. They should have experience with cloud migrations, automation, security, and performance optimization in complex technical environments.
- 5+ years of experience in database administration with strong SQL Server and Azure SQL expertise.
- Proven experience migrating databases from on-premises environments to cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server high availability technologies, including Always On Availability Groups and Distributed Availability Groups.
- Experience managing at least one cloud-native database platform such as Snowflake, Databricks, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and managing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
- Strong scripting skills with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Strong knowledge of database security, encryption, auditing, access controls, and compliance practices.
- Experience with database performance tuning, workload analysis, and optimization techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver reliable solutions.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or similar environments preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Snowflake administration, Databricks architecture, PostgreSQL replication, or Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as DP-300, SnowPro, Databricks Certified, or equivalent credentials are preferred.
