We are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile System Analyst to play a crucial role in our Newsroom system and provide dynamic support for other business applications. This position involves analysing user needs, enhancing existing systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective technological solutions. About the Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile System Analyst to play a crucial role in our Newsroom system and provide dynamic support for other business applications. This position involves analysing user needs, enhancing existing systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective technological solutions. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between our business objectives and IT capabilities, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement of our business applications.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing systems, user requests, and business processes, particularly focusing on our Newsroom system and other business applications.
- Categorise and prioritise enhancement requests and support tasks to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
- Develop detailed system specifications, including flow charts and process diagrams, to clearly communicate system capabilities and workflows.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, development teams, and external vendors in an agile environment to facilitate system enhancements, bug fixes, and new feature developments.
- Prepare and execute testing plans, including internal testing, user trials, and acceptance tests, to ensure proper implementation and effectiveness of program changes.
- Provide hands-on training to users on new systems and updates, offering ongoing support and assistance to ensure smooth adoption and utilisation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly, maintaining high levels of system performance and user satisfaction.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and user guides to support knowledge sharing and system maintenance.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to propose innovative solutions for continual system improvement.
Skills and Experience that will lead to success:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT consulting, digital transformation, or technology delivery is preferred.
- Proficiency in business process modelling and requirements gathering techniques. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder management, capable of effectively engaging with teams and providing dedicated technical support to end users.
- Solid understanding of the agile software development lifecycle methodology with experience using project management tools like Jira; adaptable to flexible and efficient project management approaches.
- Experience with database management (e.g., SQL, MongoDB) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript) is a plus.
- Experience in the media industry and content management systems is preferred.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin is beneficial.
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
