Job Description
The Front Desk Receptionist provides front desk and administrative support by serving as a professional and welcoming first point of contact for employees, customers, vendors, and other visitors. This position is responsible for greeting and directing visitors, answering and routing incoming calls, supporting visitor access and office security procedures, and performing routine administrative and data-entry functions. The position requires consistent attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to interact appropriately with employees and visitors at all levels of an organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Receive and greet customers, vendors, employees, executives, and other visitors in a professional and welcoming manner; determine the purpose of visits and notify or direct individuals appropriately.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls and respond to general inquiries as appropriate.
- Support office security and visitor-control procedures, including maintaining visitor logs, issuing visitor badges, and following established access and safety requirements.
- Maintain the front desk and reception area in a professional and organized manner.
- Order front office supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Update calendars, schedule meetings, and provide routine administrative support as needed.
- Assign personnel to appropriate projects and tasks within the timekeeping system to support accurate job costing.
- Receive, enter, and process customer credit card information in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain information within the company's CRM and other applicable systems.
- Prepare and submit final billing packets to Accounting for processing.
- Perform other related administrative duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one (1) year of previous receptionist, customer service, office administration, or similar professional experience required.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and performing routine computer-based data entry required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for Success
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to consistently maintain the work schedule required to provide front desk coverage (Mon-Fri, 7am to 4pm).
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and courteously with employees, senior executives, customers, vendors, and other visitors.
- Strong verbal communication skills and professional telephone etiquette.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately enter, review, and maintain information in multiple systems.
- Ability to organize and prioritize routine responsibilities while responding appropriately to interruptions and changing needs at the front desk.
- Ability to learn company systems, processes, visitor procedures, and basic departmental functions.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information appropriately.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with employees and management throughout the organization.

Appearance
As this role is the first “face” of SCI, business casual or better in attire is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (with equipment, as needed)
