Senior Editor - MEAWW Entertainment/MTN/TRO

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Editor - MEAWW Entertainment/MTN/TRO based in United States.

This is a senior editorial leadership opportunity focused on shaping high-quality entertainment coverage for digital audiences. You will lead daily coverage across Hollywood, film, television, streaming, celebrities, awards, and major industry developments. The role combines editorial strategy, hands-on editing, team leadership, and audience-focused decision-making. You will guide writers and sub-editors while setting a high standard for accuracy, sourcing, fairness, and storytelling. From breaking entertainment news to major premieres and award seasons, you will help determine which stories matter and how they should be covered. This position is ideal for an experienced editor who can balance strong editorial judgment with data-informed content strategy in a fast-paced digital newsroom.

Accountabilities
  • Lead editorial coverage across Hollywood, television, film, celebrities, streaming, awards, and major entertainment news.
  • Develop daily and long-term editorial coverage plans around breaking news, major releases, premieres, award shows, industry events, and emerging trends.
  • Monitor breaking entertainment developments, identify significant stories, and coordinate timely and comprehensive coverage.
  • Guide, train, mentor, and develop writers and sub-editors through regular coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Assign stories, identify compelling editorial angles, and help shape reporting, analysis, explainers, and commentary.
  • Review, edit, and occasionally write stories while maintaining consistently high editorial and journalistic standards.
  • Ensure published content meets expectations for accuracy, fairness, sourcing, consistency, fact-checking, and overall editorial quality.
  • Distinguish clearly between verified facts, reported claims, analysis, and opinion across all coverage.
  • Monitor audience performance and analytics to identify trends and use insights to improve editorial strategy.
  • Support the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and development of editorial talent.
  • Maintain clear communication across the editorial team and ensure priorities remain aligned throughout the news cycle.
  • Take ownership of the quality, consistency, productivity, and overall performance of the Entertainment editorial team.
  • Remain adaptable during breaking news, award seasons, premieres, major industry announcements, and other high-impact entertainment events.
Requirements
  • Significant professional experience editing or leading coverage related to entertainment, Hollywood, television, film, celebrities, or pop culture.
  • Previous experience managing, mentoring, or leading editorial teams within a newsroom or digital publishing environment.
  • Strong understanding of the entertainment industry, including studios, streaming platforms, television, film, celebrity culture, and major awards.
  • Exceptional editorial judgment and the ability to identify compelling stories and angles that resonate with entertainment audiences.
  • Excellent editing, research, reporting, fact-checking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to distinguish verified information from reported claims, analysis, and opinion while maintaining rigorous editorial standards.
  • Demonstrated experience planning coverage around breaking news, major releases, premieres, award shows, and longer-term entertainment trends.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience using audience analytics and performance insights to improve editorial decisions and coverage strategy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to editorial accuracy, consistency, fairness, and quality.
  • Strong ownership and accountability, with the confidence to take responsibility for team performance and editorial outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across an editorial organization.
  • Published work demonstrating strong editorial experience, particularly in entertainment journalism, editing, reporting, analysis, or commentary.
